2018 MARKS COMPANY MILESTONE June 18th, 2018 Weston FL. Housing and Development Services, Inc. (HDS), and its group of companies Housing and Development Software, eHousingPlus and The HDS Foundation, is proud to announce its 20th year as the leading technology and solutions provider in the affordable housing industry. In an era when technology and services companies come and go, HDS has achieved two decades of CLIENT CENTERED | SOLUTIONS DRIVEN innovation and steady growth. The company will commemorate the occasion with several client-focused and community activities this coming year.
HDS began operations in 1998, when Cristina Miranda Gilson, the company’s founder and CEO, paved the way for what would be its first product, HDS Grant Management. Released as the first Allocation and Federal Grant tracking and management system that interfaced into HUD’s IDIS system, it became the foundation for what quickly emerged into the adjoining business lines. This included the HDS Single Family Management, HDS Section 8 Contract Administration, HDS MultiFamily Origination, HDS MultiFamily Compliance and Asset Management, HDS Master Servicing and HDS Loan Servicing Systems. These B2B family systems evolved and expanded, providing an array of modules, features and tools to provide the daily management, tracking, compliance and reporting activities for corresponding business divisions within the affordable housing and community development industry.
The early success of the HDS family of systems supported the activities of over 51 HFA’s and Agencies throughout the United States, amounting to 147 successful implementation projects making HDS the leading provider of agency software solutions during this period.
HDS further expanded its operations by establishing partnerships to provide Program Administration and Compliance services under the trade name of eHousingPlus. This included Single Family MRB, TBA, MBS, Down Payment Assistance Initiatives including HOME, HHF, SHIP and others, Mortgage Credit Certificate Programs and Section 8 Baseline Operations to assist incoming Contract Administrators.
eHousingPlus has successfully managed over 269 Programs for 81 Agencies and worked with more than 1,066 lending institutions and has been the recipient of various service awards.
Most recently, the Housing and Development Software Division has introduced its new Web-Platform Development, HDS NextGen, and related initiatives, which are using Artificial Intelligence and some of the most robust tools and services available today. eHP Digital Docs Platform also was launched this year and is set to revolutionize the way programs manage required documents and data.
The HDS Companies have been focusing on creating additional security controls and establishing itself as a strong low-risk service provider, expanding its service operations in a protected environment by investing in various initiatives to address the internet risks facing agencies today.
HDS’s continual upgrading of existing products reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to delivering innovative, user-friendly, powerful, and robust solutions for the affordable housing and community development markets. “We have been investing and re-investing not only into the technology and products, but into infrastructure, industry knowledge, security and internal controls” said Cristina Miranda Gilson, its CEO. “Our intention is to additionally transform our internal operations, so that we are poised to have a greater impact during the next 20 years. In 2008, HDS’s founder also established The HDS Foundation, a 501 © 3 Non-Profit as a way for the company to give back. The mission of this non-profit is to enrich the lives of older teens, and young adults with Autism in seeking meaningful employment, and safe affordable housing as they transition to independent or semi-independent lives. HDS has sponsored and supported many programs during the past 10 years and has recently launched a new jobs-initiative called ASDY TECH, employing 100% ASD staff to provide services to our two business lines. This is a great testament to the company and its mission-based leadership.
HDS is a 100% Woman-Owned/Minority nationally certified business. It employs a diverse group of professionals, with strong housing, finance, compliance and technology experience. The company’s headquarters is in Weston FL since 1998, with additional offices and staff in Miami, Atlanta, Nebraska, and Vermont. Over these two decades, HDS has seen a 1,061% increase in employment, from its original staff of 6 to now 71 and growing.
HDS kicks off its 20th Anniversary year of celebrations on June 18th, 2018 with staff and with the launch of the HDS Loyalty Program. HDS has several client and staff activities planned this year, including our charitable events through The HDS Foundation.
